A 43-year-old woman from Stafford hit a £101,000 jackpot at her local Gala Club. The winner, who requested not to be named, is the mother of five children and told the press she has been playing bingo for years.

The lucky lady got a full house in 37 calls to win the National Bingo prize of £100,000 plus £1,004 from the regional game and £80 from the club. “It was so unbelievable, you never think it will happen to you,” she said. “I telephoned my husband to come and fetch me because I couldn’t drive myself home.”

The woman said she plans to use the money to buy her former council house and have a special Christmas with her family. Only three days before, another bingo player won a £68,000 bingo jackpot at the same Gala Club.
