As of October 31st the Cache Creek Casino will close its bingo parlor and events hall to use the space for hundreds of slot machines and poker tables. According to Wendy Waldorf, a spokeswoman for the Casino, the closure of the bingo hall was inevitable.

The remodeling of the 20,000-square-foot parlor will start on November 5th when the old tables will be replaced with almost 520 slot machines and 30 poker tables. If everything goes as planned, the renovation will be completed in spring.

“We're getting requests from dozens, possibly hundreds, of customers for more slots. It was a hard decision, with bingo being our roots,” Ms Waldorf said. “Largely, our events center sits dormant. This is what we need to do.”

The Cache Creek Casino also plans to open an 18-hole golf course with a clubhouse a driving range and a practice putting area, which would be ready by 2007.
