A 54-year-old woman from Lower Sunbury is the lucky winner of a £202,000 bingo jackpot, thanks to her daughter and granddaughter who insisted that she should go to the Gala Bingo in Feltham. This was the 16th visit of the lady to the bingo hall.

The lady, who asked not to be named, won the National Bingo Game prize of £200,000, the regional prize of £1,773 and the club prize of £275. She completed a full house in 38 numbers, which was the lowest call in 500 clubs in the whole country.

“I got no sleep at all after the win: it is just unbelievable, I earned ten years wages that night,” the woman said. “I worked for a London borough for 12 years, until it closed down the entire department. I am very careful with money, and had estimated that I didn't need to find a job until next February. Now there is no pressure whether I work or not so this is life-changing for me. It should see me through until I am 65.”
