A Bolton Bingo player and her mother-in-law won a £50,000 jackpot at the Mecca Club in Ashburner Street, Bolton. More than 13 years ago, the two women had promised to share any bingo winnings equally.

“We're both very pleased. When I realized I'd won I cried with shock, while my mother-in-law cheered!”, the 31-year-old winner said. She also explained that they immediately called their family to tell them the good news.

Although both women asked to remain anonymous, they told bingo officials that they planned to use the money to treat the family to a holiday in Spain and extra special Christmas presents.
