Astronomic profits for online bingo in 2010

Maybe the key to the success of online bingo rooms is that they allow to have the same fun one would have in a real bingo club. Besides, nowadays many bingo sites have chat rooms where players can interact with other players, making of online bingo a social game just like traditional bingo.

Apparently, women are the main audience of online bingo rooms. Visitors to William Hill online bingo room are mainly 30-year-old women, most of whom bet no more than 10 cents.

“Approximately 70% of players who register in Cashcade sites in the United Kingdom are women whose ages are between 25 and 45 years,” Simon Collins, Operations Director of the Bingo Cashcade division at PartyGaming said in a phone interview made on 7th August.

“Everyone is entering online bingo,” Wyb Ellis, Numis Securities Ltd analyst said in London during an interview. “It really has been a sector with a considerable growing, especially in the United Kingdom.”

According to the information provided by H2 Gambling Capital, a research company based in Manchester, England and whose clients include PartyGaming, online bingo profits will increase more than 20% during this year as well as next year and will reach a total of 1,300 million dollars by the end of 2009 and 1,600 millions in 2010.

“Online bingo is in a growing stage, which is so new that the novelty of it counteracts any effect of the recession,” Simon Holliday, H2 director said in an interview.

Online bingo has proved to be more resistant than other kinds of games during current recession, which has been the worst since World War II. People’s expenses have been reduced with an impact on the benefits of traditional bingo halls and clubs.

According to William Hill, net benefits obtained with online bingo and skill games such as backgammon increased 50% in the first half of the year and gross sales, including players’ winnings, are expected to grow a 50% more in 2010, from 150 million Pounds (250 million dollars) this year.

Ladbrokes, which owns more than 2.300 betting houses in the United Kingdom and Ireland, informed that online bingo profits increased 30% while sales in bingo clubs in the United Kingdom dropped 7.4%.
